The Best of British Scrapbooking & Cardmaking

Biographical Sketch of Debbie Wood

Debbie owns her own scrapbook store, ScrapMagic. It was the first dedicated scrapbooking store to open in the UK back in 2001. Her main scrapbook subjects are her children, Josh, Tom, and Jess; and her grandchildren, Maiya and Kyle.

Since Debbie loves stationery, scrapbook supplies, and cameras, this is the perfect hobby (and business) for her!

Debbie came across scrapbooking on a visit to the US. Coincidentally, a friend also gave her a load of scrapbook magazines just after she'd bought her first supplies. Debbie was immediately addicted (or obsessed, as her family would say).

Her favourite techniques are hand-cutting titles, paper-tearing and distressing papers.

Of her contributions to this book, she particularly loves the photos in Pure Enchantment. She says, "It brings back memories of a very happy day, so that's probably my favourite of the ones published here."

As you can see, Debbie loves scrapbooking pictures of her grandchildren and daughter, and now scrapbooking has led her to take better photos. She tells us, "My albums are not in any sort of order, just a random collection of layouts! I get all my supplies from my store, but my favourite products have to be Bazzill cardstock and QuicKutz for alphabet dies (I have a huge collection!).

Although ScrapMagic hosts a crop every month, (which Debbie tells us she loves), she rarely gets any scrapbooking done there. She admits, "I get far more done alone!"

Debbie's advice to would-be scrapbookers is simple: "Jump right in! It's the best hobby. You can incorporate all your other interests in your layouts, and produce something to keep forever."
